*My next post will be on a new inexpensive poly tunnel. I am hoping to start & finish it tomorrow so the post should be coming in a day or two. Stay Tuned =)
You have been burning Saudi gold, that's quite a ride !
ReplyDeleteLovely photography as always. How gorgeous is that bufflehead ! Great shot of lake Erie. I love lakeshores. The orchard is lovely too, is it the same you shot earlier ?
It was a long Saturday, left at 11am, home at 4pm. Click Click Click! This orchard is a different one on hwy 24 close by the lake. We pick apples @ www.orchardhomefarm.com, about :15 north of our home. There is a lot of apple orchards in Southern Ontario, seems like one every few km's. Do you have lots of apple orchards in QC?
ReplyDeleteIn a few concentrated areas we do. On my side of the St. Lawrence for example (north shore), there are quite a few in the Oka area but nothing major further north, where I live.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness at the train rails picture. How fantastic would that be blown up and framed!
ReplyDeleteDucks are such varied and beautiful birds. Looks like you had a gorgeous drive with lots of great stops along the way. Really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the next iteration of the poly tunnel!
Miss M - Oka looks like a nice area. I've never been to QC before, we were planning to go to jardins de metis a few summers ago but never made it. Really should go ones of these days, we live in such a beautiful country, especially when you get away from all the cars & masses.
ReplyDeleteRibbit - We just found this spot that takes you right under the bride. The lighting was really bad today so I will have to go back under fairer conditions. It is one cool structure that's for sure.
KitsapFG - It was my first time seeing the Buffleheads up close, they usually fly away. Quite cute little ducks, they are almost like a toy.
Dan, Your pictures are postcard/photo book perfect. I feel I can reach right in and touch the ducks.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of Lake Erie. It look so calm and yet cold.
ReplyDeleteDan, you've never been to Québec ? Shame on you ! lol
ReplyDeleteLes Jardins de Métis are certainly not on your doorstep - I figure a 14 hour drive ? Quite a distance from me too (7h). I've vacationed in that area before (drove by, more like) but didn't stop to see the gardens, sadly. (It was way before I got into gardening).
There's another garden I've heard of recently, Jardin Les Quatre-Vents, created by Frank Cabot in the Charlevoix area. Apparently one of a kind. (Looks spectacular from the photos). Will try to squeeze both of them in next summer.
Tina - Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDaphne - It was a nice day but the weather was quite insipid, cool, damp and hazy. One of those days you have to fight with the camera for every shot.
Miss M - I have been really close to QC but never across the border. One of these days I will get there and BC. I may not come back from BC though.
