Early this year I came across a few bloggers that had set up posts to organize seed trades so I started to partake. So far I have done eight seed trades and they have arrived from Canada, United States & England. Here are the varieties I received in alphabetical order and a link to the blogger I received them from:
- Bush Beans, True Red Cranberry and Tomato, Velvet Red from The Conservative Gardener
- Broad Bean, Crimson Flowered from Down on the Allotment
- Marigolds and Vinca from Skeeter at In The Garden
- Pepper, Purple Beauty from Annie's Kitchen Garden
- Squash, Delicata and Tomato, Purple Calabash from Skippy's Vegetable Garden
- Swiss Chard, Bright Lights and Tatsoi from Daphne's Dandelions
- Tomato, Beauty King and Tomato, Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye from Judy's SFG
- Tomato, Variegated from Veggie Patch Re-imagined
And thanks for the lettuce. Our weather is starting to warm up so I'm guessing it will take off soon.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to share with other gardeners the little gifts we get from our gardens. Skeeter will be thrilled to see the plants growing and hear how the seed did for you.
ReplyDeletehttp://botanicalswap.org is where I go to trade rare plants and seeds. They are great people.
ReplyDeleteVery fun! Looking forward to the "how they are growing" follow up post.
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! I hope you have success growing all these - like you I love swapping seeds though haven't done it online like this. I am a member of the Heritage Seed Library in the UK which is a really great resource that lets you swap seeds.
ReplyDeleteI love trading seeds :-) It's really neat because you can sometimes obtain unusual or hard-to-find varieties. Plus it's just fun (like a mini-Christmas) when you open the mail box.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the follow-up too! Have a great weekend Dan!
