More Bald Eagle Photos

After spotting the eagle yesterday and posting some photos we headed out again this morning along the Grand River in Brantford. This time we spotted it out in the open. We were told that the eagle is in an old hawk nest that it is adding too and that there is a pair of them. Can't wait until I can capture two of them together.

  1. Great photos of the bald eagle. We awoke this morning to the unseasonable temperature of 45 *F, and rain. It sure is odd, but it nice to see a bit of the snow melting away.

  2. Hi Emily - Isn't it exciting to see these creatures returning again. We are supposed to be mostly above freeze next week and yes it is nice to see the snow start to melt. It is nice to feel the heat of the sun too.

  4. Tina - Thanks

    Siskelkk - Thanks

Daphne - You may see them in your area some time soon. They are really starting to rebound in the eastern part of North America. They use the river to travel down from up north in the winter, they usually fallow the ice edge as things freeze up. This is the first time I have seen then nest in our area.

  6. Kathy - It is so exciting to see these birds, especially in this part of the world. I have just traded eagle nest locations with a fellow Flickr person so I will have two to watch now!

  7. Great Bald Eagle pictures! We have them at the lake but the lake has been so low we cant get the boat out to them. I hope to capture them with camera at some point. I do have some pics of the Osprey and they are mistaken as the eagle at times...

  8. Nice photos of the Bald Eagle! Something to see in flight thanks for the photo.

We have a lot of them at Jordan Lake in Chapel Hill, NC perhaps the largest population of them east of the Mississippi. I just last week hear of 20 of them being seen in one area!

  10. Skeeter - Good luck getting some photos of them. I have never seen an Osprey but we do have them on the river, I will have to keep looking.

Randy - Wow, it would be amazing to see a large group of them. Maybe something to look forward to as they continue nesting here.

EG - Glade you like the photos, they certainly are a sight to see. Those pileated woodpecker are cool, I have never seen one but have heard them in the woods.
