After doing some lunar planting, that I post about below, I have a sprout already. It is a 'Bonsai' Pac Choi that was sown last night around 10pm. That's germination in just 18 hours, can't complain about that. Of course it is a brassica that germinate fast already though. I hope the peppers and celery fallow suit as they can take ages to germinate.
In other germination news I have some celeriac & scallons growing that I also planted by the lunar schedual:

Don't we wish everything would sprout in 18 hours ? :D
ReplyDeleteLooking good, Dan !
That's some really quick sprouting! I have some 'red spinach' seedlings that look like the celeric. They seem lanky though, is this normal? Everything else under the light looks fine so maybe it's just the way they grow...
ReplyDeleteNot much will sprout in a day and a half, but brassicas are pretty fast. I think two days is my record.
ReplyDeleteI grew bonsai pak choi last year was very satisfied with how they looked and tasted. You'll be eating it in no time. Hopefuly, you will have some protection for it. My pak choi was attacked by every pest imaginable.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see all those sprouts. Right now it's hard to believe that there is anyone out there without a seedling tray or 5 aomewhere in thier homes - such a fun time of year, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteMust go watch Hockey now...
Holy Cow! That is amazingly fast. I think 24 hours has been my fastest observed germination turn around. Lots of good stuff happening in your seed starting area!
ReplyDeleteVery cool Dan....that is some fast germination!
ReplyDeleteCor - that's quick!
ReplyDeleteVery exciting! I haven't started yet, will soon.
ReplyDeleteNow that is fast!
ReplyDeleteOnly things about pak choi I found in "Carrots love Tomatoes" was not to plant them near corn, as the corn worm is attracted to it and it works well if planted intermitting with brussels sprouts or cauliflower.
ReplyDeleteWOW - 18 hours! That's some speedy germination time...I don't think I've ever seen anything sprout that quickly. Glad to see your garden is starting to sprout!
ReplyDeleteI like cute little baby plants. It awalys amazes me when I think how big some of them will become.
