This past weekend was a long weekend for the Canadian Thanksgiving, it might as well have been Columbus Day though as no turkey was had. The weather was spectacular, the cool sunny days were much appreciated after the grey weather we have been having. With such sunny sky's I just couldn't resit the urge to skip out on my garden clean up and do something fun! The weekend was spent doing the following things which were much more exciting then ripping out solanum's:

Awesome pics Dan :-) We don't have apple orchards around here... wish we did though. I think it takes cold winter weather for apple trees and we just don't get that down here (or not enough of it).
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for skipping out of the garden work LOL!
Looks like a great way to spend the long weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy thanksgiving to you too, eh ? :D
ReplyDeleteThat crane shot is unbelievable. I didn't realize you had upgraded your cam. When did you get the D80 ?
Love the sky in the orchard. Lovely pics !
What kind of bird is that? It is awesome!
ReplyDeleteUmmm, you may not have had a turkey but there was definitely a big bird worked into that weekend?! LOL! The garden clean up will wait until you are ready. A gorgeous weekend like that is best spent out and about like you did.
ReplyDeleteI love your photo's Dan, we need to go picturing lol ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the bird photos. We were out last weekend too. Every year around the middle of October we go biking on the Nashua River Trail. Three are a lot of ponds to pass and really nice foliage. We didn't see any cranes, but we did see a Great Blue Heron.
ReplyDeleteThose birds look much better than any turkey you could ever have. Hope you had a nice holiday.
ReplyDeleteMy parents were up this weekend so we neglected the garden too and went apple picking. Great pictures of the crane!
ReplyDeleteHi Dan, the late blight got me this year also. Out of five semi dwarf apple trees, the deer let me have three apples. John
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful weather - you spent it the best way. The garden will still be there next weekend!
ReplyDeleteah yes! I went apple picking on Thursday too!
ReplyDeleteLovely - I love getting out on my plot but sometimes it's great to have a gardening free weekend when you do something totally different! :-)
