I know they grow well in greenhouses, I have been thinking next year I might put a hoop cover over them but leave both ends open. I am guessing it is a heat thing.

skeeter - romas would be a good idea, I could make salsa and tomato sauce with them.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743102355360873845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-21241295887454781322008-09-26T13:16:00.000-04:002008-09-26T13:16:00.000-04:00We still have a few tomatoes on the vine to enjoy....We still have a few tomatoes on the vine to enjoy. Our romas did great so give them a try next year!

Our sweet peppers were a bit disapointing also. We had a horrid season with hot days and no rain but the hot peppers love it...Skeeterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08222522533934405029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-82500801140209602872008-09-25T23:55:00.000-04:002008-09-25T23:55:00.000-04:00I've been noticing things slowing down in my garde...I've been noticing things slowing down in my garden as well.

The tomatoes in particular are definitely slower to change color and I've got two large cherry tomato plants with dozens upon dozens of big, green fruit just sitting there taunting me.

If they're still green when I get home I'm going to trim some vines and hang them to see if they'll change.

If you find anything to push your pepper to change let me know. I have a feeling I'll need it.Hydroponicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18124445829035000164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-53844840468507301222008-09-24T22:43:00.000-04:002008-09-24T22:43:00.000-04:00Very good description of your veggie garden. Your veggie garden must be on the north side of it and therefore maybe oriented east/west? That is how mine is and I am shaded by oak trees. I kind of like it though. I think your fall crops will still grow, albeit slower. Good luck.tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415302577518111227noreply@blogger.com
