The hours of enjoyment from watching them more than repays the trouble and expense. We get Pileated woodpeckers that are huge and have the red top like woody woodpecker. They can really get to hammering on the trees at times and are amusing to watch.<br /><br />Great pics (as usual!). I am trying to get a picture of my latest garden visitor. The long hedge, trees in the back & river close by attract lots. <br /><br />Ribbit - Got to love squirrels, I wish I could shoot them! <br /><br />Miss M - These were taken with a Nikkor 70-300mm VR f/4.5-5.6. It's the best value lens for its length. Works well most of the time but it is a little slow. <br /><br />Chiot's Run - We get lots of woodpeckers too, downy, hairy, red bellied.
