Burrrr, I bet your hands WERE numb after hand washing. Be careful or you will get front bite and you need those fingers for sowing seeds. The good, the bad and the ugly, we have it all right now...Skeeterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08222522533934405029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-30772861946431901972010-02-23T01:03:12.084-05:002010-02-23T01:03:12.084-05:00The tatsoi might be slow to grow but it's look...The tatsoi might be slow to grow but it's looking very nice ! And the leeks are real troopers. I'd say your winter garden did really well, Dan.

This year will be my first attempt at winter gardening. I'm not getting my hopes too high though, being 2 zones down. ;)miss mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08779663826025791655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-22293495959346026742010-02-22T19:13:05.809-05:002010-02-22T19:13:05.809-05:00Thanks for posting photos of your polytunnel crops...Thanks for posting photos of your polytunnel crops. I have some too, and it was nice to see what someone else is growing (I have chard, spinach, kale, turnips, radishes, lettuce, mache, and beets). I also have celery out in the open which is pouting quite a bit. :)Elizahttp://www.appalachianfeet.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-84452044239703550442010-02-22T18:40:33.066-05:002010-02-22T18:40:33.066-05:00Your poly tunnel crops do look pretty good. We have had a lot of freeze/thaw cycles. The ground has been frozen the whole time, but we had a 50 degree day on Sunday so it was very warm.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-30926114756796782622010-02-22T10:11:16.130-05:002010-02-22T10:11:16.130-05:00Winter gardening can be such a mixed bag. It's amazing how dried out it gets under the covers even when it is not warm outside.

I think your swiss chard is quite done in. My experience has been that when the plant looks like that - the roots are actually quite soft from freeze damage and have rot.kitsapFGhttp://www.modernvictorygarden.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359929230952480074.post-89359432864801463822010-02-22T05:03:48.247-05:002010-02-22T05:03:48.247-05:00It's a real challenge to get winter veg and sa...It's a real challenge to get winter veg and salad.
