Some Snow Finally

Last Monday we received our first big snow storm of the winter. It certainly was a long time coming this year. To this point we have had snow but it has always been low amounts. After the storm we ended up with about 20cm (8in) and it was greatly needed as things were starting to get really dry. Sounds like more is on the way for Thursday and Friday, bring it on!

We of course headed out in the midst of the blizzard to take some picture, here are a few of them:

  1. Beautiful snow photos. Our storm today was had such wet snow that I didn't want to venture out far with the camera. My pictures were taken from the porch :)

  2. This marks the first occasion I've ever heard the word "finally" coupled with "snow."

There's always a first, but it is beautiful, isn't it.

  3. Here, it started yesterday. Still falling now. Wet and heavy. It has almost doubled what was on the ground already. Lovely pics !

  4. Emily - Thanks! This was wet snow too with slush below. Made for some really snowy trees.

Ribbit - I don't mind the snow and was happy to finally get to play with the snowblower :-)

Miss M - We seem to be in our own little pocket this year in southern ontario. We have 20cm coming again by Friday afternoon and then rain. Should be sloppy!

  5. We got a fair bit in north Toronto too. I thought it was all going to turn to slush by Tuesday morning because it got so warm, but then it froze up again. Our pup certainly loves it!

  8. It's amazing how much a snow fall transforms a woodland scene into something magical and beautiful. The contrast of dark trees and pristine snow is wonderful.

  10. Here in England we have had more than usual. It's not funny any more!
However, it's much milder today. I don't think the ground has really been dry since before Christmas though.

  11. I wish we were getting snow instead of our flooding rains. Yours is much prettier. I guess the good news is that I don't have to shovel.

  12. Those are beautiful photos, especially the last one! How much longer with the snow be around in your area?
